“Dudley is not going scot-free because the police have an air-tight case against him.

Police arrested a young “notorious trafficker” and confiscated P7.4 million worth of suspected shabu from him, moments after President Rodrigo Duterte reiterated his warning against the menace of illegal drugs in his third State of the Nation Address (SoNA).

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar identified the arrested suspect as 24-year-old Bryan Dudley who also yielded P400,000 in cash. He was nabbed at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and University Street in Barangay San Vicente, UP Diliman, Quezon City by a joint team of the NCRPO, QCPD Station 9 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Confiscated from Dudley was over a kilo of shabu with a street value of at least P7,400,000.

He was arrested after giving a policeman poseur-buyer half a kilo of the illegal drug.

Eleazar said Dudley had been arrested in April of 2016 by the anti-illegal drugs unit of the Pasay City police in another buy-bust operation.

However, the suspect was acquitted and released by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court only last 2 July. He will face anew charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Dudley’s arrest proved that old habits die hard for someone whom the police say has made a lucrative business selling drugs despite considering himself “jobless.”

This time around, Eleazar said Dudley is not going scot-free because the police have an air-tight case against him.

The NCRPO chief said they will put the anti-illegal drugs campaign into overdrive as President Duterte has emphasized in his SoNA the need to stop the narcotics trade.
