New People’s Army (NPA) members from Surigao del Sur abducted a member of the Civilian Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member on Monday morning, 23 July, but later released him in exchange for food.
The abducted CAFGU member, identified as CAA Eusebio Meniano, 43, was inside his house with his family when he was abducted.
Meniano’s family and neighbors who witnessed the abduction immediately informed the Army about the situation.
