Bradley places bet on Pacman

Despite his age, Manny Pacquiao remains the best in the business.

Pacquiao’s former foe Timothy Bradley thinks the Filipino ring icon still has a lot of gas left in his tank and is capable of notching a massive victory over Lucas Matthysse in their World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title clash on Sunday at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

Bradley, who battled Pacquiao in a classic trilogy, said the 39-year old bruiser had taken well of his body, making him very dangerous even against a younger fighter like the Argentinian slugger.

“I’ve always said that Manny Pacquiao’s B-game is always better than anyone’s A-game,” said Bradley during ESPN’s broadcast from Fresno, California.

“Still today, he still has that speed and he still has that punching power. I think he’s still available and ready to fight any of these guys in the division, and I don’t think anybody’s afraid of him right now,” Bradley added.

Pacquiao has yet to hammer a knockout since sending Mexican Miguel Cotto down in 2009.

His last match against Australian Jeff Horn had a controversial ending as the pride of Brisbane played rough from start to finish, resulting in two cuts from head clashes that threw him out of his comfort zone.

Horn pulled off the win via a unanimous decision, sparking speculations that Pacquiao, by then a Senator, should prepare for retirement.

“I think he still matches up very well with anybody,” said the American, who was calling the match at ringside. He strongly believes it was Pacquiao who emerged victorious.

“He really hasn’t taken any sort of punishment, I don’t think, even in that Horn fight. Some elbows, some head butts and things ‘like that. But it wasn’t a performance like: you know what, I think the champ is done. I think Pacquiao is finished.’”

He said against Matthysse, Pacquiao should show that it’s not yet time to retire.

“Let’s see how he does against Matthysse,” he said. “And then, we’ll be able to judge from there.”
