hundreds of comics were on sale during the fest. Lovers of manga and anime had a blast last June 26 as the Manga Fest was held at the Precious Pages Events Center in Quezon City.

Fans were treated to several events happening all at once during the event spearheaded by Precious Pages and Black Ink.

Early birds got to bring back their childhood memories by playing the Tagila Game inspired from Snakes and Ladders.

Hundreds of Black Ink books were on sale, some were even sold at 20 percent off. Those who were in attendance also had the first glimpse of Black Ink’s new releases as well as had their collection signed by the artists. Black Ink Artists also held live drawing exhibitions.

Apart from Black Ink artists, local indie artists and creators were also present.

Francis Martelino, Ardee Arollado, Lupo, Basilio, Gail Ramirez, J. Iara were amongst the creators who joined the Manga Fest.

Talks and discussions were also held during the one-day event. Jaime Busa of SeaCat shared his knowledge on Animation Career

Development. Aspiring comic creators heard from Godley Malabanan while Ardee Arollado shared his experience as an indie comic artist.

One of the highlights of the event was the parade of cosplayers in their fancy costumes. Three batches of cosplayers portrayed our all-time favorite characters from anime and Black Ink books. Alphonse Elric of Fullmetal Alchemist, Son Goku of Dragon Ball, Voltes V and more were in the house.

Like all manga festivals, Manga Fest laid out many activities for the visitors to enjoy. Creatives let their imagination run wild with the Coloring and Fan Art Contest. Breakada Online Radio dared guests to join their Offline Challenge, a game where participants were urged to stay in a secluded room without their cellphones and gadgets. Freshly baked goodies were deftly prepared by Captain Incooknito for all the hungry tummies who attended the event.

Guests who went to the Manga Fest did not go empty-handed with hundreds of free mangas given at the end of the event.
