The Makati local government is optimistic of a huge tax collection from the city’s real property owners as, starting today, July 3, the city brings its satellite tax payment centers to the barangay level.
Mayor Abigail Binay, however, did not disclose the expected collection target for the third quarter.
Historically, realty property tax is one the principal sources of Makati’s income.
Today, the Office of the City Treasurer will put up collection centers in the barangay halls of Bel-Air and Urdaneta.
On July 4, the treasurer’s office will be in barangays Dasmariñas and Forbes Park.

On July 5, it goes to barangays Magallanes and San Lorenzo; July 6 in barangays Bangkal, Pio del Pilar, San Isidro, Palanan and San Antonio.
By July 10, the treasurer’s office will set up collection centers in barangays La Paz, Sta. Cruz, Singkamas, Tejeros and Carmona.
The following day, it will be in barangays Kasilawan, Olympia, Valenzuela, Poblacion and Guadalupe Viejo.
On July 12, the collection center will be put up in barangays Guadalupe Nuevo, Pinagkaisahan, Pitogo, Cembo and South Cembo.
