Generika-Ayala completed an amazing comeback to take down league giant Foton in five sets, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 25-12, 15-13, in the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Invitational Conference yesterday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

Pineda, who nailed the game-winning spike that kept Generika-Ayala unbeaten in two matches, finished with 20 points highlighted by 18 spikes.
Patty Orendain was also instrumental finishing with 19 hits including 18 excellent receptions, while skipper Angeli Araneta and Ria Meneses added 10 markers each.

“I told Bang to give full effort in her spikes because we’re facing a tall Foton team and Jaja Santiago kept on blocking her. She followed my instructions and hit the winning spike,” said Generika-Ayala head coach Sherwin Meneses.
The Lifesavers are surprisingly two wins closer from gaining an outright semis seat in the mid-season conference that also has Senoh, Asics, Mikasa, Mueller and Grand Sport as technical sponsors.

Foton dropped to 0-2 in Pool A despite the 28-point effort of Santiago, who scattered 21 kills, four service aces and three blocks including 15 digs.
