Two homegrown fintech companies formally inked an agreement Tuesday to unveil the first global real estate platform in Asia using the blockchain technology.
Startup company AQWIRE joined forces with Satoshi Citadel Industries, one of the biggest crypto companies in the Philippines, to develop the capability of listing units from different developers worldwide, process payments through different conventional channels such as credit/debit cards, international bank transfers, and SWIFT as well as give out different analytical data to help potential buyers with their purchasing decision.
AQWIRE said accepting cryptocurrencies as payments in the transactions would further strengthen the platform.
AQWIRE founder and CEO Ray Refundo said during the signing of the partnership, “This agreement will revolutionize the real-estate industry in the Philippines. We can now claim to be a truly global platform because we can provide cryptocurrency-based real estate payments using AQWIRE.”
Refundo said they would initially focus saturating the Philippine market and then move to other countries in the near- and long-term. He said he is planning on putting up operations in Thailand within this year and later open an office in the US, particularly in the San Francisco area.
