The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) will extend it services starting June 18. The nation’s most modern LGU-run library will be open from 8 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
Quezon City Public Library extended the operating hours of its periodical, reference, Filipiniana and local history, multimedia and internet services sections. The library’s café is included in the extended hours.
The extended library hours will last for a month and will be evaluated whether to make the extended business hours permanent.
“Experimental pa lang siya for one month kasi titingnan natin ang response ng public o ng ating mga clients kung pupunta sila nang ganung oras,” assistant city librarian Mariza G. Chico explained.
The QCPL is one of the largest and innovative public libraries in Metro Manila with more than 15,000 books in its main collection. It was awarded the Most Innovative Library in the Philippines in the recent National Conference of Librarians and also recognized as one of the top-performing Tech4ED centers in the country by the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
