Most parts of the archipelago will experience light to moderate rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the state weather bureau yesterday said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said southwest monsoon will bring rains over the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ilocos, Batangas, Cavite and the Ilocos region which may result in flash floods/landslides in low-lying areas.
Metro Manila will have cloudy skies with occasional rain showers and thunderstorms while Western Visayas and the remaining areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be mostly cloudy, with rain showers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, strong winds coming from the southwest will prevail over Luzon, making coastal waters moderate to rough.
The inclement weather due to habagat and yyphoon “Domeng” has so far affected 22 families or about 93 persons residing in San Fernando, Pampanga, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported yesterday.
