Even if he emerges victorious over Argentinian Lucas Matthysse, Filipino boxing star Manny Pacquiao is not going to clash with American Terence Crawford in the future.

Michael Koncz said Crawford is not on Pacquiao’s radar as he is all set to battle Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko in November following his showdown with Matthysse in July 15 in Kuala Lumpur.

Koncz, who stands as adviser to the fighting senator, said Pacquiao is not a fan of Crawford, especially his slick fighting style that is similar to that of Floyd Mayweather.

And with that fighting style, Crawford managed to destroy Jeff Horn of Australia via a ninth-round technical knockout late Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The victory did not only give Crawford the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown; it also led him to become boxing’s latest three-division world champion and no. 2 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

But Koncz said there’s no looming showdown between him and Pacquiao.

“Styles make fights,” he told a group of sportswriters in a recent interview.

“In my opinion, Terence Crawford is a bad style for Manny. That type of fighter is similar to Mayweather. We’ve always had trouble against those types of fighters.”

Koncz said Lomachenko offers Pacquiao a much better match-up, a more exciting fight, than Crawford.

“I think fans want that (Pacquiao-Lomachenko) fight,” said Koncz.

“Manny says he wants that. This has the potential to be a tremendous fight.”

For the fight to come into fruition, Pacquiao has to unseat Matthysse in style while Lomachenko has to win his match against Jorge Linares on May 12.
