As fans were surprised with the sudden end of TV5’s “Sunday Noontime Live” (SNL) which only lasted for three months, news of what’s to replace it shocked the fans even more — its rival, ABS-CBN’s “ASAP Natin ‘To.”
Mostly hosted by former Kapamilya talents Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, Catriona Gray and Jake Ejercito among others, SNL pulled aired its finale last 17 January as “ASAP Natin ‘To” is set to take over its slot on TV5 starting 24 January.
In an official statement released to the entertainment media last 16 January, Brightlight Productions CEO Albee Benitez said they are pulling the plug on the show.
“Sunday Noontime Live (SNL)’s delightful run is about to end and we await future endeavours from its outstanding stars and phenomenal newcomers,” said Benitez.
However, “ASAP Natin ‘To” will still air on AZ2 channel.
The decision to roll the longest-running Sunday musical variety show on the Kapatid channel is said to be part of the budding partnership between ABS-CBN and TV5.
Along with SNL, other Brightlight Productions programs “I Got You” and “Sunday Kada” also bid goodbye on television last 17 January.
Meanwhile, other Kapatid programs such as “Lunch Out Loud” top-billed by Billy Crawford, “Rated Korina” of veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez and “Oh My Dad” led by Ian Veneracion will continue to air.
