Alvin Kasiban is a Manila-based multimedia artist, photographer, and writer with a Fine Arts degree in Advertising Arts from the University of Santo Tomas (UST). He first earned recognition as chief photographer for The Varsitarian, where his work on the aftermath of Typhoon Glenda earned him the 2014 National Student Quill Award. His career includes significant contributions in visual storytelling, covering political events and general news, and he served as a Malacañang correspondent. Alvin has also excelled in art direction and photography, winning awards such as Globe Telecom's Picture Perfect 2.0 grand prize in 2019, Ateneo de Manila's 2020 Marciano Galang Acquisition Prize for his photo entries "May the Dead Not Take Me With it" and "Aid in the Frontlines," and a special commendation at the Catholic Mass Media Awards in the same year. Currently, he serves as the paper’s Creative Director for its Lifestyle section.
