The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said Monday that it has maintained zero overdue regulatory applications for 10 consecutive weeks.

All 17 regional offices and the agency’s Housing and Real Estate Development Regulations Bureau acted on applications within the required 15-day period, DHSUD said.

Applications must be approved, denied or issued a Notice of Deficiency of Requirements within the period.

The agency attributed the performance to reforms under its 8-Point Agenda, which include streamlining regulatory processes, digitizing systems and strengthening homebuyer protection.

“By strengthening our policies, we further streamline the regulatory processes. However, faster processing does not mean weaker regulation. We remain committed to balancing the interest of all stakeholders, including protection of homebuyers,” Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said.

DHSUD said it also reviewed its processes to identify workflow bottlenecks and improve operations.

“Patuloy nating inaayos ang ating mga proseso upang mas mapabilis pa ang paghahatid ng serbisyo nang hindi isinasakripisyo ang proteksyon ng lahat ng ating mga stakeholders, kasama na mga homebuyers,” Aliling said.
