DAVAO CITY — Team Davao Aguilas booked a slot in the National Finals after winning the Davao City leg of the Red Bull Half Court 3X3 Challenge at the Ateneo de Davao University SHS covered courts here over the weekend.
The squad composed of Redyn Arellano, Norris Arana, John Rodulfa and Reginald Ching bested team JCA Farm, 17-13 in the finals to make their third trip to the National Finals.
JCA Farm, which is composed of Axel Doromal, Bambam Tampos, Arnel Molina and Chris Catarong, settled for a runner-up finish.
Meanwhile, Coaches Corner of Lorelaine Gestopa, Christine Hismana, Princess Pedregosa and Charissa Cuevas duplicated the Aguilas feat by beating team NingNing, 20-12, in the finals of the women’s division.
Tournament director Eric Altamirano handed the awards to Aguilas and Coaches’ Corner, who will represent the city in the National Finals set this June in Manila.
