The Makati Business Club (MBC) has designated deputy executive director Michelle L. Dee as officer-in-charge as it prepares for a leadership transition following the resignation of executive director Rafael “Apa” Ongpin, effective 30 April 2026.

Ongpin’s terminal leave runs throughout the month, the Club announced.

In the interim, Dee will oversee day-to-day operations while the MBC Board of Trustees implements succession plans to ensure continuity.

Extensive experience within MBC

She brings extensive experience within the organization, having previously served as Partnerships & Operations Head and Memberships & Events Head before assuming her current role as deputy executive director.

The organization acknowledged Ongpin’s contributions during his tenure, citing his role in advancing MBC’s mission and strengthening collaboration with members and partners on key economic and business issues.

Further updates on the leadership transition will be announced in due course, said the MBC.
