Therma South Inc., a subsidiary of AboitizPower, was recognized as the city’s top real property taxpayer during the “Pasidungog 2026: Garbo sa Dabaw” awards held this month at the SMX Convention Center.

The recognition, part of the annual Araw ng Dabaw founding anniversary festivities, marks the seventh time the company has earned the top spot for real property tax contributions. The company was also cited as the city’s fourth-largest business taxpayer.

The Davao City Treasurer’s Office reported that the city collected approximately P15 billion in total revenue in 2025, representing a 12.93 percent increase over the 2024 collection.

Officials attributed the growth to consistent payments from major taxpayers, a rising number of professionals, and increased local business activity.

John Paul Patiño, facility head for Therma South, said the company remains committed to supporting local infrastructure and public services.

“AboitizPower has long been committed to Davao’s growth,” Patiño said. “More than fulfilling obligations, we are actively supporting the city’s initiatives to help improve the quality of life for all Dabawenyos.” Jonas Reyes

City officials commended private sector partners during the ceremony, citing that tax revenues are vital for funding major developmental and social programs.

The Pasidungog awards specifically honor corporations, organizations, and individuals that have contributed significantly to the city’s economic progress and governance initiatives.
