vivo on 2 March unveiled its upcoming imaging flagship, the X300 Ultra, during Mobile World Congress 2026, highlighting a new 400mm equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra and confirming the device’s global rollout later this year.
The company provided a first look at the smartphone’s design and its professional photography kit, marking the first time vivo confirmed plans to bring its most advanced X-series model to international markets.
The X300 Ultra debuted alongside what vivo described as the industry’s only 400mm telephoto extender. Co-engineered with ZEISS, the lens is designed to meet APO imaging standards and supports a full 200MP optical output, delivering high-resolution images even at up to 1600mm digital crop.
The device also features gimbal-grade optical image stabilization and motion-tracking focus technology aimed at improving telephoto stability and precision for both still photography and video.
vivo said the telephoto extender achieves a balance between extended zoom capabilities and body structure, positioning the X300 Ultra as a tool for professional creators seeking ultra-long-range mobile imaging.
In addition to the telephoto extender, vivo introduced a pro-grade Camera Cage designed to enhance the X300 Ultra’s video capabilities.
The expandable cage includes cold shoe mounts and quick-release ports for accessory integration, along with a dual-hand grip for improved handheld stability. It also features dedicated physical buttons for shutter and zoom control, as well as an integrated multi-level cooling fan to maintain performance during extended recording sessions.
An External Lens Expansion Frame was also presented, offering compatibility with the telephoto extender and completing what vivo described as a comprehensive toolkit for professional use.
The X300 Ultra builds on vivo’s previous Ultra models, which gained recognition for advances in mobile photography and videography. The decision to introduce the new flagship to global markets signals the company’s expanded ambitions in the premium smartphone segment.
vivo said the move reinforces its strategy of bringing advanced imaging technologies — including developments in optics engineering and computational photography — to a broader international audience.
The company’s showcase at MWC 2026 underscored its continued focus on imaging innovation and premium design, as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the global high-end smartphone market.
The X300 Ultra is expected to launch in global markets later this year.
