Iran reportedly launched missile attacks on multiple U.S. military sites across the Middle East, targeting bases in Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, Iran local media reports.
Lebanon’s top officials called on all factions to prioritize the welfare of the country and its citizens as the conflict escalates. Their statement appeared aimed at Hezbollah, amid concerns over whether the Iran-backed group might become involved in support of Tehran.
In a video address on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump encouraged Iranians to challenge their government once the strikes end. “The hour of your freedom is at hand,” he said.
Australia expressed support for US actions, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stating that his country backs efforts to prevent Iran from threatening international peace and security.
The Israeli military issued warnings for civilians near military facilities in Iran to evacuate. The army said the strikes targeted weapons production sites and other military infrastructure and that remaining in the area could endanger lives.
Violence has also spread to Iraq, where a bombing at a military base housing pro-Iran fighters killed at least two members of Kataeb Hezbollah, according to sources from the group. Others were reported wounded.
In the UAE, authorities intercepted Iranian missiles, though one person was killed in Abu Dhabi. Qatar also reported intercepting missiles aimed at its territory. Residents near Dubai and Abu Dhabi reported hearing explosions, while blasts were also reported on the outskirts of Shiraz in southern Iran.
Iran’s Foreign Minister told his Iraqi counterpart that the country would continue to defend itself and target US military installations in the region, according to Iraq’s Foreign Ministry.
The escalating strikes prompted multiple airlines to suspend flights. Turkish Airlines paused flights to several Middle Eastern capitals, SWISS suspended flights to Tel Aviv until 7 March, and Air France canceled flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut. Lufthansa announced the cancellation of flights to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Amman, Erbil, and Tehran, and also suspended services to Dubai and Abu Dhabi until Sunday, citing the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
