Mynt, the parent company of e-wallet GCash, has slammed social media scams claiming to offer “early access” or “pre-sale” of its shares—warning the public to steer clear and report them.
“Mynt reiterates that, as of the date of this advisory, it has not authorized any public offering of its shares and any social media posts or other communications offering ‘early access’ or ‘pre-sale’ of its shares are unauthorized and fraudulent,” the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The firm stressed that it has made no official filings with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission or the Philippine Stock Exchange, and that any future offering will strictly comply with the law.
The public is urged to remain vigilant, never click suspicious links, and avoid sharing personal information or funds with these fraudulent schemes.
To report scams, Mynt advised contacting the official GCash Help Center via the app, messaging Gigi on the GCash website at help.gcash.com, or reporting directly to the SEC Enforcement and Investor Protection Department.
