The commemoration of the 40th anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution was generally peaceful, following the deployment of more than 13,000 police personnel across identified convergence areas and major thoroughfares in Metro Manila, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported on Thursday.
Based on consolidated ground monitoring, an estimated 8,570 participants attended the activities in key areas, with crowd movement remaining manageable throughout the duration of the event.
The orderly conduct of the commemoration was achieved through close coordination among the NCRPO, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, concerned local government units, allied uniformed services, traffic management units, force multipliers, emergency response teams, and augmentation personnel from Police Regional Office 3 and Police Regional Office 4A.
Continuous monitoring, calibrated traffic adjustments, and sustained police visibility helped maintain public safety while allowing participants to exercise their right to peaceful assembly.
While the overall situation remained controlled, an isolated incident resulted in minor injuries to three police personnel, who were immediately provided medical attention and are now in stable condition.
Two rallyists were also arrested for acts in violation of existing laws and were dealt with in accordance with standard procedures.
Regular police operations across Metro Manila continued uninterrupted to ensure sustained public safety coverage despite the large-scale deployment.
NCRPO Regional Director Police Major General Anthony Aberin, who personally supervised operations on the ground, emphasized that the police presence was anchored on maximum tolerance, discipline, and respect for constitutional rights.
