Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc., the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group and the country’s largest airport operator outside Manila, is expanding domestic air connectivity through its three gateways: Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Bohol-Panglao International Airport and Laguindingan International Airport.
The AIC Airports network currently supports 29 domestic routes from MCIA, five from BPIA and four from LIA, providing passengers direct access to key markets across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Many of these routes are nonstop and are served exclusively from AIC Airports.
Domestic destinations served through the network include Iloilo, Bacolod, Tacloban, Puerto Princesa, El Nido, Busuanga, Siargao, Zamboanga, General Santos and Davao.
Among the routes accessible directly and exclusively via MCIA are Siquijor through Sunlight Air, Calbayog via Philippine Airlines and San Vicente, Palawan through Cebu Pacific.
Aboitiz InfraCapital said these routes are designed to support inter-island mobility, tourism growth and regional business activity by enabling point-to-point travel without passing through Manila or other major hubs.
The company also positioned its airports as practical alternatives to transiting via Manila, Clark or Davao, particularly for passengers traveling between the Visayas and Mindanao or to secondary cities.
Connectivity across the AIC Airports network is reinforced by MCIA’s transfer initiatives, allowing passengers arriving from Laguindingan or Bohol to connect efficiently to a broader range of domestic destinations via Cebu. Passengers from Manila can also access onward domestic flights from MCIA.
CEB Connects, MCIA’s air-to-air transfer service, aims to reduce transfer times between connecting international and domestic flights. Meanwhile, CEB+, an air-to-sea transfer service set to launch this year, will link MCIA to Mactan Wharf, catering to nearby island destinations.
CEB Balik features an Overseas Filipino Workers facilitation kiosk and departure lounge, positioning MCIA as a key gateway for OFWs in the Visayas and Mindanao.
With its focus on direct routes, integrated transfers and coordinated network planning across Cebu, Bohol and Laguindingan, Aboitiz InfraCapital said it is positioning its gateways as preferred entry and transit points for domestic travel in the Philippines.
