Graduates and members of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. held the PMA Alumni Homecoming 2026 at Borromeo Field, with Panfilo Lacson, President Pro Tempore of the Senate and a proud PMA alumnus, as Guest of Honor and Speaker on Saturday, 21 February.
This year’s homecoming carried the theme “Fostering Unity and Excellence: Strengthening Bonds and Advancing Traditions,” highlighting the enduring fellowship among Cavaliers, their shared sacrifices in service to the country, and their continuing responsibility to uphold the ideals of the Academy across generations.
A total of 1,741 alumni — the highest turnout in the last five years — attended the event, ranging from the eldest attendee, Cavalier Filoteo Arevalo of Class 1956 (92 years old), to the youngest, Cavalier Alexis Mison of Class 2025 (21 years old), reflecting the breadth of PMA’s legacy across time.
In his welcome remarks, Superintendent Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard N. Valencia underscored that the homecoming is more than a yearly tradition. He said it is “a return to shared memories, to a common identity, and to an institution that has shaped the character and destiny of countless officers who have answered the call of the country,” noting that the gathering reunites generations bound by the enduring values of honor, service, and excellence.
As part of the program, PMAAAI conferred Lifetime Achievement Awards and Cavalier Awards on selected alumni for exemplary service and contributions to national development, both in and beyond uniformed service. Medallions were also donned on jubilarians, honoring milestone anniversaries of graduating classes. Lacson later administered the oath of the incoming PMAAAI Board of Trustees for 2026–2027.
In his message, Lacson paid tribute to the enduring bond among Cavaliers, citing the “unbreakable bond” that bridges generations along the Long Gray Line and the Academy’s trinity of Courage, Integrity, and Loyalty.
Among those in attendance was Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and a member of PMA “Makatao” Class of 1989.
A wreath-laying ceremony was also held on Friday, 20 February, at the Alumni Memorial as a solemn tribute to fallen graduates. The rite included prayers and the reading of names of departed alumni, honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
The 2026 Alumni Homecoming reaffirmed PMA’s role in forming leaders of character and the enduring commitment of its graduates to serve the Armed Forces and the Filipino people.
