ILOILO CITY — Police seized more than P14 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested four suspects during an early morning raid Friday in Iloilo province.
The operation in Barangay Maya resulted in the recovery of approximately 2.06 kilograms of the illegal drug.
Maj. Dadjie Delima, chief of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office Drugs Enforcement Unit, identified the primary target as a 46-year-old man known as “Bimboy.”
A resident of Estancia, “Bimboy” is classified as a high-value individual on the regional priority list for Western Visayas. He was arrested alongside three others, aged 21, 22 and 63, all residents of Balasan.
“The area of operation of Bimboy is the whole fifth district and the province of Capiz,” Delima said. He noted that the suspect had a previous arrest for similar offenses and that this seizure is the unit’s largest since he took command in October 2024.
Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, director of Police Regional Office-6, said the confiscation is a “significant blow” to local drug networks.
The Balasan raid followed two separate operations in Iloilo City on Thursday that led to the arrest of three other high-value suspects.
In those cases, officers recovered 180 grams of shabu worth P1.22 million in Barangay Sto. Niño Norte and another 80 grams valued at P544,000 in Barangay Compania Central.
All suspects face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The primary suspect in the Balasan case faces additional charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
