The Philippine National Police (PNP), through its Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), on Thursday reported major operational gains from 9 to 16 February 2026, intensifying efforts against illegal activities at key airport entry points and reinforcing public safety nationwide.
Authorities addressed 224 incidents involving colorum and overcharging taxis under Republic Act 4136, along with two violations of Joint Administrative Order 2014-01. Two wanted individuals were also apprehended through the joint service of warrants of arrest, while other operational measures further strengthened aviation security across the NAIA Complex.
A highlight of the week was the interception of 19,569 grams of suspected shabu valued at P133,069,200.
This total includes 5,424 grams worth P36,883,200 seized at the PAIR-PAGSS Cargo Import Warehouse on February 11; more than eight kilograms valued at over P60 million confiscated at the NAIA Terminal 3 Customs International Arrival Area on February 13, which led to the arrest of a German male national; and approximately 6,000 grams worth P40.8 million seized on February 15 at the NAIA Terminal 3 International Arrival Area, resulting in the arrest of a South African male national.
“These operations show that criminal elements have no safe harbor in our airports. We will continue to enforce the law without compromise,” PNP Chief P/Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez said. “Tinitiyak natin sa publiko na ang bawat aksyon ng PNP ay para sa kaligtasan at kaayusan ng ating lipunan.”
The week’s accomplishments also reflect the PNP’s Focused Agenda, aimed at enhancing police operations and aligning services with public needs.
“Every shipment we stop is a victory for the Filipino people. Hindi kami titigil sa pagtupad ng batas at proteksyon sa mamamayan,” Nartatez added.
As the PNP continues airport security operations under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assured the public of its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”
