The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) inaugurated the TESDA-accredited off-campus training center at the Athletes’ Village in New Clark City.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang and Tarlac Governor Christian Tell Yap led the ceremony that will boost the education and skills of the hospitality industry of the country.

The facility, to be managed by the Tarlac Center for Learning and Skills Success (TCLASS), will deliver industry-aligned, TESDA-certified TVET programs to support the growing hospitality workforce in New Clark City.

Through a facility use agreement, BCDA has opened key training spaces within the Athletes’ Village.

This initiative supports inclusive growth and workforce development in line with the economic agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Also present during the ribbon-cutting were TESDA Provincial Director Maria Andaya Roque and Tarlac Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer Frances Canlas, who welcomed the program’s first batch of trainees.

The Philippines' hospitality industry is experiencing robust recovery and growth, projected to reach USD 11.9 billion by 2031 with a 7.21% CAGR.

Driven by strong domestic tourism and rising international arrivals (5.45 million in 2023), the sector is expanding with 12,249 new hotel rooms anticipated in 2026. Key trends include a surge in eco-tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events, and luxury, sustainable developments in key destinations.
