The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) released footage showing 150-meter-high ash emissions from Mount Kanlaon as Alert Level 2 remains over the volcano this Monday afternoon, 16 February 2026.
In its 24-hour observation released earlier, PHIVOLCS recorded six volcanic earthquakes and an emission of 1,124 tonnes of sulfur dioxide daily from the volcano.
The agency reiterated that entry into the four-kilometer permanent danger zone is strictly prohibited and warned of sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions.
Meanwhile, Mayon Volcano in Albay remained at Alert Level 3, while Taal Volcano in Batangas is at Alert Level 1.
