Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Sunday said they are fully prepared for the upcoming “Trillion Peso March” scheduled on February 25, 2026, in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, which will take place at the EDSA People Power Monument.
QCPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said a sufficient number of QCPD personnel, augmented by various PNP units and partner agencies, will be strategically deployed to ensure the safety and security of participants, motorists, residents, and the general public. Coordination meetings with concerned government agencies, local government units, and event organizers are continuously being conducted to ensure the peaceful, orderly, and secure conduct of all related activities.
This deployment is aligned with the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) under the PNP Focused Agenda, supported by the Triple A Program of the NCRPO, promoting enhanced police presence, operational readiness, and community partnership to maintain peace and order during major public events.
“Our primary objective is to uphold public safety while respecting the citizens’ right to peacefully assemble and express their sentiments during the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA Revolution. The QCPD will implement comprehensive security measures and effective traffic management to minimize disruption and ensure a safe environment for everyone,” Silvio said.
11K cops to be deployed
Around 11,500 cops are set to be deployed to provide security for the upcoming Trillion Peso March and related activities, ensuring the safety and security of participants and the general public, the Philippine National Police (PNP) also said on Sunday.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized the importance of coordination and preparedness as the PNP intensifies its readiness for large-scale public gatherings.
The planned gatherings will feature prayer and indignation rallies on Feb. 22 and 25, with an expected turnout of around 50,000 participants.
"Tungkulin natin na tiyaking ang bawat Pilipino ay may kalayaang magpahayag at magtipon nang mapayapa—nang ligtas at walang takot. We are committed to proactive, visible, at responsive policing during these events. Safety ang top priority natin, kaya pakikiusap namin sa lahat na makipagtulungan sa kapulisan," Nartatez said.
He added that to further strengthen coordination, the PNP will conduct a coordination conference this coming week in line with the processing of permits and finalization of operational plans with event organizers.
Nartatez also urged the public to cooperate with authorities to ensure the peaceful conduct of the activities.
"We urge participants and the public to follow safety protocols at guidelines. Ligtas at maayos na event ang layunin natin, habang inaalala natin ang legacy ng People Power," Nartatez said.
