Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) could develop near the country ahead of Valentine’s weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wednesday.

The weather bureau said one LPA may form near southern Palawan through Sunday, February 15.

However, as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, PAGASA reported that no LPAs were being monitored for tropical cyclone formation either inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Another potential LPA may emerge east of Mindanao and could move close to the area, though it is unlikely to intensify into a tropical cyclone.
