‘Everything happens for a reason’

Angeline Quinto on friendship, forgiveness and self-confidence

Kapamilya singer-actress Angeline Quinto recently opened up about two deeply personal chapters of her life — her brief misunderstanding with close friend Yeng Constantino, and her long-standing honesty about cosmetic enhancements.

In an interview with comedian Chad Kinis, Angeline spoke candidly about how emotions, pressure and self-acceptance shaped her journey in recent years.

Wedding, missed moment, hurt friendship

Angeline admitted that she was once hurt when Yeng was unable to sing at her wedding in 2024, held at the historic Quiapo Church, where she married Nonrev Daquina.

“I was honestly upset with Yeng at first,” she shared. “Yes, I felt hurt.”

She explained that Yeng was her first choice to sing during her bridal march.

“She was supposed to sing for my bridal walk. She was the first person who came to my mind because I really wanted her song ‘Ikaw.’ When she said yes, I immediately told her the date. She was actually the very first friend who knew I was getting married — even before Vice (Ganda) and Erik (Santos),” she said.

But just weeks before the ceremony, Yeng informed her that she had a prior commitment on the same day.

“About a month before the wedding, she told me she couldn’t make it because of another commitment. That’s when I felt sad,” Angeline recalled.

Looking back, she realized that stress played a major role in her emotions.

“Maybe it was all the pressure. The wedding was already so close, and suddenly, there was no one to sing. Everything just piled up.”

Turning disappointment into something beautiful

Instead of dwelling on the setback, Angeline found a way to transform the situation into something meaningful.

She revealed that she wrote an original song for her wedding together with Jonathan Manalo.

“That’s why Sir Jonathan and I ended up writing an original song for my wedding with Nonrev. We wrote it together. Yeng knew about it. It became more personal — it was really ours.”

Today, Angeline says there is no bad blood between her and Yeng.

“We’ve talked about it. Everything is okay now. Our friendship is even stronger.”

Setting the record straight on her looks

In the same interview, Angeline also addressed long-running rumors about her appearance — particularly claims that she had undergone a nose job. She firmly denied it.

“My nose is natural. I really didn’t have it done,” she said.

She credited her makeup team for enhancing her features on camera.

“My makeup artists know that the contour and nose line have to be perfect for me. That’s why it looks different sometimes.”

Why she chose not to alter her nose

Angeline admitted that she once considered getting a minor nose procedure but ultimately decided against it.

“I did consult before because I wanted to trim my nostrils. That’s true,” she revealed. “But the doctor said, ‘If we trim it, we also need to raise your bridge.’ I said no.”

She explained her reasoning: “I was scared my face would change too much. I already have a bit of a bridge, and my parents have naturally pointed noses. I’m happy with what I have.”

Being honest about cosmetic procedures

While denying nose surgery, Angeline was open about the procedures she has had in the past, with the guidance of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.

“Yes, I had liposuction in 2013. Even when I lost weight, my stomach wouldn’t go away. It was really hard,” she shared.

She added: “In 2016, I also had a breast reduction. Those were the only procedures I had. I also had braces for my teeth.”

Angeline emphasized that these decisions were made for comfort and confidence, not vanity.

“Dr. Belo explained that some areas are really hard to fix, no matter how much you exercise. That helped me understand my body better.”

Confidence rooted in faith and growth

For Angeline, both her wedding experience and her journey with self-image taught her important lessons about trust, patience and self-acceptance.

“Everything happens for a reason,” she reflected. “What I went through made me stronger, more grateful and more confident in who I am.”

From navigating friendship challenges to embracing her natural beauty, Angeline continues to inspire fans with her honesty and resilience — proving that true glow comes not from perfection, but from peace within.
