Fuso Phl secures top 3 finish in 2025 truck sales

Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation finished 2025 as the third-largest truck seller in the country within the Truck Manufacturers Association Category III to V segments, covering commercial vehicles with gross vehicle weight above three tons.

The result came as the local commercial vehicle market held steady amid broader economic pressure, supported by continued demand from transport and logistics operators.

The company’s sales performance leaned heavily on steady demand for its light-duty truck offerings, particularly the Fuso Canter line. Fleet operators and small to medium enterprises continued to favor these models for urban deliveries and regional hauling, where reliability and operating cost remain key considerations.

The company also pointed to improvements in customer support systems and wider nationwide reach as contributors to the year’s results.

Dealership coverage played a central role in sustaining sales and after-sales activity. With outlets spread across key regions, the network allowed closer access to customers while providing consistent parts availability and service support.

This setup helped maintain continuity for operators whose businesses depend on minimal downtime.

Yosuke Nishi, president and chief executive officer of Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation, said the 2025 result reflected the combined efforts of its dealers and internal teams, along with continued confidence from customers.

He added that the company remains focused on providing dependable commercial vehicles that support daily business operations and long-term growth.

Support from the regional organization was also noted. Cho Kyu-Sang, vice president for sales and marketing at Daimler Truck Southeast Asia, congratulated the Philippine team for securing the third-place position.

He cited strong customer focus and consistent execution across both sales and aftersales as factors behind the outcome, adding that regional collaboration remains important as the brand looks ahead.

The broader commercial vehicle sector showed resilience throughout the year. Despite cost pressures faced by businesses, demand for trucks remained stable as logistics, construction, and distribution activities continued across the country.

The Truck Manufacturers Association and its member brands benefited from this sustained need for transport solutions, allowing the segment to maintain volume even as other parts of the automotive market faced softer conditions.

Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation said it continues to work with long-time customers across different industries, supporting fleets of varying sizes. The company emphasized that dependable vehicles and consistent service remain critical for businesses that rely on trucks as core tools rather than discretionary purchases.

As the market moves into the next cycle, the company said it plans to further strengthen partnerships and expand its presence, building on the performance recorded in 2025.

The latest sales ranking serves as a marker of steady footing in a competitive and essential segment of the Philippine automotive industry for Fuso’s local operation.
