Students from Batangas State University, De La Salle University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and Ateneo de Naga University emerged as top winners at the Inventi Hackathon Challenge 2025, a competition focused on developing property management solutions for smart cities.

The hackathon, organized by Inventi Asia, drew 58 registered teams and culminated in a live demo and awarding ceremony on 29 September at Karrivin Plaza in Makati City. Ten finalist teams presented working prototypes designed to address real-world property management challenges.

The grand prize was awarded to Team NextCS of Batangas State University, which developed an Internet of Things mesh grid platform described as a “virtual brain for cities.” The system analyzes real-time environmental and behavioral data to enhance safety, energy efficiency, and building operations.

Second place went to Team NeoSolve from De La Salle University and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. The team created a property management tool that operates entirely through Facebook Messenger, allowing users to submit maintenance requests, book amenities, and manage smart home features via the widely used messaging platform.

Third place was claimed by Team Lendr of Ateneo de Naga University, which built a centralized property management system designed to automate workflows and synchronize data across departments.

Special awards were also handed out, with Team EskwAIM receiving the Innovation Award, Team Turbo Rats of De La Salle University winning the Sustainability Award, and Team CTRL ALT Elite of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila earning the Creativity Award.

Participants shared more than P80,000 in prizes and were offered mentorship and collaboration opportunities with Inventi Asia’s technology team.

Inventi Asia Chief Executive Officer Francis Henares praised the quality of the entries, saying, “The teams demonstrated world-class talent. Filipino developers continue to shape how technology transforms property management and the places where we live and work.”

Chief Technology Officer Nooky Umali highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in smart city development.

“Teams that tapped into agentic AI clearly stood out — these capabilities are the building blocks of a true smart city,” Umali said.
