Security Bank Corporation emerged as one of the top winners at the 61st Anvil Awards: Gabi ng Parangal, earning the Platinum Anvil, the highest recognition for PR Tools, presented by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.
The award was conferred on the bank’s 2024 Integrated Report, “At the heart of everything we do, is you,” which was selected as the top-rated entry among all Gold Anvil winners. The report stood out from 622 entries submitted by 178 companies nationwide, highlighting the competitive nature of the country’s premier public relations awards.
Judges cited the report for its clarity, transparency, and effectiveness in translating complex corporate information into a clear and engaging narrative that strengthens stakeholder understanding and demonstrates strong strategic communication.
“This report was never just about publishing numbers. It was about telling the story of how we serve people and create value—grounded in stronger sustainability reporting and regulatory alignment. It reflects our commitment to BetterBanking: working to make things easier and clearer for customers, delivering sustainable growth and strong governance for investors, fostering a culture of purpose for our people, and creating positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Tanya Ansaldo-Deakin, first vice president and corporate communications head of Security Bank.
Meanwhile, Security Bank Foundation Inc. also earned national recognition after receiving two Silver Anvil Awards under the Public Relations Programs category for initiatives that delivered measurable community impact.
One award recognized the program “Built to Last, Delivered in Record Time: Security Bank Foundation Classrooms,” which constructs disaster-resilient public school classrooms at a pace five times faster and at 20 percent lower cost than prevailing public standards. The innovations from the program are now being considered in national school building policies and proposed legislation.
The second Silver Anvil honored “SBF Eyes (Seeing Better Future through Eyes),” a partnership initiative that provided vision screening and free prescription eyeglasses to 1,170 students in Laguna, Batangas, and Bulacan. The program led to improved reading outcomes, including a 328 percent increase in independent readers in participating schools.
“These awards remind us that development is not just about buildings or numbers—it is about children finally being able to read, learn, and dream,” said Rafael Simpao Jr., chairman of Security Bank Foundation. “When we listen closely to communities and work together with partners who share the same heart, real change happens.”
Now in its 61st year, the Anvil Awards are regarded as the most prestigious honors in Philippine public relations, with winners selected through a rigorous, multi-level judging process that is independently audited to ensure fairness and integrity.
