A village in Pasig City has removed the names of its council members from its official letterhead, complying with a Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) directive against the use of government materials for personal political promotion.
Barangay chairman Alex Torres on Tuesday unveiled the updated stationary, which no longer lists the names of local officials.
The change aligns with a DILG order — commonly referred to as an “anti-epal” policy — that prohibits the names, photos and likenesses of public officials from appearing on government-funded projects and properties.
Torres said the move is intended to eliminate patronage politics and adhere to the standards of governance currently practiced in Pasig.
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla previously stated that public projects must not be used for personal branding.
