BTS is officially making its long-awaited return, and the comeback is set to unfold on a global scale.

Netflix and Hybe have announced a landmark live event and a feature-length documentary marking the reunion of the seven-member supergroup, signaling a new chapter for one of the most influential acts in modern pop music.

The live special, BTS The Comeback Live, Arirang will stream worldwide on Netflix on 21 March, broadcasting directly from Seoul’s iconic Gwanghwamun Square. The performance celebrates the release of BTS’ upcoming fifth studio album, ARIRANG, and will mark the group’s first appearance together on a global stage since completing South Korea’s mandatory military service.

RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V,and Jung Kook are expected to reunite for the event, which Netflix describes as an unprecedented global broadcast — and the platform’s first-ever live event streamed internationally from Korea. The concert will air at 8 p.m. KST, reaching audiences across Asia, the Americas, Europe and beyond.

The live performance arrives alongside the announcement of BTS’ expansive Arirang World Tour, scheduled to run from 2026 through 2027. The tour will span 34 regions and include 82 shows across multiple continents, underscoring the scale of the group’s return.

Just days after the concert, Netflix will debut BTS: The Return on 27 March. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bao Nguyen, the documentary offers an intimate look at the group’s reunion and creative process as they prepare their comeback album. Filmed largely in Los Angeles, the project follows BTS as they reconnect after time apart, navigating both the excitement and uncertainty of beginning again.

According to Netflix, the film explores more than just the mechanics of making music. It captures the members reflecting on their individual growth, their shared history, and the challenge of moving forward without losing sight of what brought them together. The documentary promises rare behind-the-scenes access, emotional candor, and moments of humor as BTS reclaims a collective creative space shaped by years of global fame.

The live event also represents a significant step in Netflix’s expanding slate of real-time programming, which now includes major sporting events and large-scale entertainment broadcasts. BTS The Comeback Live Arirang joins a growing lineup of live specials as the streaming giant pushes further into event-based viewing.

BTS first debuted in 2013 and quickly rose from a breakout K-pop act to a global phenomenon, earning multiple Billboard chart-toppers, GRAMMY nominations, and sold-out stadium tours worldwide.
