The Philippine Navy on Saturday said its Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) has continued search, rescue, and retrieval operations in Indonesian waters for the nine remaining missing passengers of the recreational motor banca Amejara, following clearance from the Government of Indonesia.
On 30 January, NFEM deployed a Beechcraft King Air C90 (NV392) to conduct visual search operations beyond the Philippines–Indonesia common maritime border.
The aerial mission expanded coverage to areas where the missing passengers may have drifted.
At sea, BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS37) sustained surface patrols and visual searches within waters off Sarangani, extending up to 118 nautical miles southwest of Palimban Point, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, and toward the Philippines–Indonesia International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
Despite adverse weather and sea conditions, the vessel continued operations while maintaining maritime security in its assigned area.
The search effort is being coordinated with the Eastern Mindanao Command, Office of Civil Defense Region XI, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Air Force, and Indonesian authorities to align air and surface operations across jurisdictions.
Operations remain ongoing.
