Marjorie Barretto shared a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Estrella Barretto, through a deeply personal Instagram post following her passing on January 29.

In her message, Marjorie explained why she took time before publicly expressing her grief.

“It took me some time to post, as I was still processing every emotion while making funeral arrangements,” she wrote, noting that the pain was compounded by the recent death of her brother just months earlier.

Despite the weight of loss, Marjorie reflected on moments of faith and grace that helped her endure her mother’s final days.

“In every trial that comes my way, I have always felt God’s guidance, protection, and grace,” she shared.

She recalled a quiet afternoon at the hospital that became one of her most treasured memories.

“Just the two of us. Mom trying her best to be her usual chatty self… Without me even trying to be funny, she laughed so hard at my stories. That time was priceless.”

Marjorie described her mother as physically weak but mentally sharp, radiating warmth until the end—traits she said defined Inday Barretto throughout her life.

Two days later, Marjorie said she was again by her mother’s side, this time during her final moments.

“It was peaceful and quiet. A moment I truly believe God orchestrated and one I will hold close to my heart always,” she wrote.

Reflecting on the idea of closure, Marjorie acknowledged that life does not always offer easy answers, but she found solace in being present at her mother’s bedside.

“They say we don’t always get closure in life… I believe He gave me something even greater, the chance to be with her.”

In closing, Marjorie asked for prayers for her mother, whom she remembered as full of strength, humor, and love.

“Please keep our beautiful, feisty, strong, funny, and loving Mom in your prayers,” she said. “She is now with Dad and my brother Mito.”
