Cy Almeniana shone anew, posting 16 attacks and two aces for 18 points to lead the Lady Altas to the impressive win that came on the heels of their breakthrough victory over reigning champion College of Saint Benilde over the weekend.
Almeniana said her solid performance is the result of her hard work following an injury-plagued season.
“After recovering from injuries last season, I spent my time improving my game,” said Almeniana, who also erupted for a career-best 27 points in their previous win — their first victory over the Lady Blazers since 2019.
“It’s now a matter of consistency. That will help us maintain our performance.”

“I told them to just focus on defense. If we do that, our offense, our attacks will improve. I also told them to treat each game as if it is their last,” said Rieta, who also drew 14 points from Jemalyn Menor and 11 markers from Shaila Omipon.
“Let’s not follow their tempo. We have our own beat so let’s dance to our music.”
