The provincial government of Zambales turned over a suite of new medical equipment, health facilities and an ambulance to the San Marcelino District Hospital on Monday to expand the facility’s specialized care capabilities.

Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr. led the ceremony alongside Rep. Jay Khonghun and officials from the Department of Health and PhilHealth. The upgrades include an ambulatory surgery clinic, a dietary building, a hospital information system and a new ambulance.

The hospital also received advanced diagnostic and life-support technology.

Donations from Latter-Day Saint Charities-Philippines Inc. included arterial blood gas machines, CPAP and BiPAP machines, defibrillators, mechanical ventilators, and high-flow oxygen nasal cannula devices.

The provincial government provided high-end imaging systems, including a Fuji Eluxeo Lite 6000 multi-LED endoscopy system, Samsung and Siemens color ultrasound and echocardiography systems, and Edan fetal monitors.

Hospital chief Dr. Cresencio Gonzales accepted the equipment, which Ebdane said is part of a broader push to modernize primary hospitals across the province.

“The provincial government continues to strengthen its support for doctors, nurses, and other health professionals,” Ebdane said. “The aim is to ensure quality, efficient, and affordable health services to every Zambaleño.”

The turnover also included the opening of public restrooms donated by the Olongapo Multi-Purpose Cooperative and the launch of the PhilHealth Yakap program at the facility.
