Design Philippines’ “Artipelago III” made a significant impact at Maison&Objet, held in Paris from 15 to 19 January, showcasing the rich blend of heritage and innovation in Filipino design.
Led by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions or CITEM, the Philippine pavilion featured 14 homegrown brands and one art gallery, presenting a curated collection of furniture, home decor and lighting.
The showcase effectively captured the fair’s theme, “Past Reveals Future,” by demonstrating how traditional crafts and natural materials can be transformed into contemporary, functional and sustainable products for the global market.
The event successfully drew international visitors, buyers and design professionals who were particularly interested in the Filipino design ethos rooted in tradition and sustainability.
“Artipelago III” not only promoted business growth, but also served as a vibrant platform to highlight the creativity and originality of Filipino artisans on the international stage.
