ZTE Corporation has been included in the CDP Climate A List for the third consecutive year, placing the global information and communications technology firm among the top 4 percent of companies worldwide for climate action and environmental governance.
In a statement released on 13 January 2026, ZTE said it once again earned an “A” score from CDP, making it the only company in mainland China to achieve the top rating three times in recent years.
CDP, an international platform for environmental disclosure, assesses companies based on climate governance, target-setting, action effectiveness, and risk management. In 2025, more than 22,100 companies globally disclosed climate, forest, and water security data through CDP. Only the top-performing firms receive an “A” rating.
ZTE said the recognition reflects its integration of green and low-carbon principles across its operations through four key areas: green operations, green supply chain, green digital infrastructure, and green empowerment.
Under its green operations program, ZTE reported absolute electricity savings of 45 million kilowatt-hours and a 13.4 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions year on year. The company said its telecom products recorded an 8.39 percent reduction in physical emissions intensity during use and maintenance, while terminal products achieved a 5.02 percent reduction in lifecycle emissions. ZTE also reported a total reduction of 14.317 million tons of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in 2024 compared with 2023 levels.
For its supply chain, ZTE said it has embedded green innovation requirements into supplier management systems, including audits and performance assessments. The company has conducted corporate social responsibility audits on more than 450 suppliers, guided 152 suppliers in completing carbon inventories, and assisted 51 suppliers in setting carbon reduction targets.
ZTE also highlighted its investments in green digital infrastructure, noting that it holds more than 800 green patents and has completed carbon footprint assessments for 240 products. Through its end-to-end green solutions, the company said it helps global telecom operators save more than 10 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
Under its green empowerment initiatives, ZTE said it has partnered with more than 2,000 industry players to deploy 5G-enabled green applications across 18 sectors, including manufacturing, mining, ports, rail transit, and energy. The company said these efforts have resulted in more than 100 innovative low-carbon application scenarios.
ZTE added that its sustainability commitments have also been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, which approved the company’s near-term 1.5-degree Celsius target and long-term net-zero goals. It has also received a Gold Medal rating from EcoVadis, placing it among the top 4 percent of assessed companies worldwide.
The company said it will continue working with global partners as part of its participation in international sustainability initiatives to support climate action and promote a low-carbon, digital future.
