Rite of enthronement marks solemn opening of Santo Niño grand feast

Jefferson Fernando

Before the solemn celebration of the Holy Mass for the Grand Feast of the Santo Niño, the church was filled with reverence as the Rite of Enthronement of the original and miraculous image of the Holy Child Jesus was ceremoniously held.

Led by the parish priest and rector, together with the vicar forane, the ritual marked the formal placement of the revered image in the sanctuary, signaling the spiritual opening of the feast day. The moment was both majestic and prayerful, drawing the faithful into quiet reflection and deep devotion.

More than a tradition, the enthronement stands as a powerful expression of faith, love, and recognition of the reign of the Child Jesus in the hearts of His people. As the image was lifted and honored, devotees were reminded that the Santo Niño is not only celebrated—but enthroned as King, guiding the community in faith, humility, and hope.
