The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said it will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into a rape complaint filed against a police officer assigned in Manila.

PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the police organization will fully cooperate with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), which is handling a parallel administrative investigation related to the case.

The alleged victim has filed a formal complaint with NAPOLCOM.

Police officials said the victim and her partner were also received at the Office of the Acting Chief PNP at Camp Crame, where their concerns were heard, and the investigation process was explained.

“Our foremost priority is the welfare of the victim. We will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to uncover the truth and ensure that justice is served,” Nartatez said.

Based on initial reports, the incident allegedly took place in early December 2025 after the victim was invited by the suspect, identified as an active-duty police officer, to attend a gathering with friends.

The victim reportedly lost consciousness at a social venue and later discovered that she had been sexually assaulted.

Nartatez said the PNP has a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct within its ranks and that any officer found to have violated the law will be held accountable.

He added that the PNP is coordinating with concerned agencies to assist the victim and her family while ensuring the integrity of the investigation.
