PCSO expands health outreach with medical missions

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) launched a series of healthcare initiatives across Luzon this month, providing free medical services to hundreds and donating life-saving equipment to the military and local communities.

On 8 January, a PCSO medical team led by Dr. Rouel Aparato served more than 200 patients during a mission at the Sto. Niño Parish Church in San Mateo, Rizal. The outreach included 134 medical consultations, 20 electrocardiogram examinations, and 64 dental treatments. The agency also distributed free medicines and vitamins to the beneficiaries.

The agency’s charitable efforts extended to the Armed Forces of the Philippines through a donation of three automated external defibrillators.

Assistant general manager Lauro Patiag turned over the equipment, valued at approximately P485,000, to Maj. Eric Paligat of the 101st Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade Battalion. The devices are intended to manage cardiac emergencies during military training and operations.

In Bulacan, Barangay San Pascual in Obando received a donation of medical devices and wheelchairs to improve local health services for the elderly and persons with disabilities. During a ceremony in Mandaluyong, corporate planning manager Anna Liza Inciong presented the items to barangay captain Esmerardo Papa, emphasizing the agency’s goal to reach the grassroots level.

Amid these outreach programs, the PCSO also awarded a P13.8-million Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot to a government employee from Camiling, Tarlac. The winner, who hit the 24 December 2025, draw using a combination of family birthdays, claimed his prize on 8 January.

The winner said the windfall was a surprise blessing for his family and that he intends to use the money for practical, long-term needs after depositing it in a bank.

The PCSO noted that these charitable programs are funded by the public’s participation in lotto games, reminding players that every ticket purchased contributes to the agency’s health and social service missions.
