Beauty Gonzalez and Kris Bernal ignite war in ‘House of Lies’

Seasoned stars Beauty Gonzalez and Kris Bernal finally share the screen in House of Lies, GMA Afternoon Prime’s latest high-stakes family drama that pits love against ambition and truth against deception.

Premiering 19 January, the series casts Beauty as Marjorie and Kris as Althea — two women bound by family yet driven by rivalry. Joining them are Mike Tan as Paolo and Martin del Rosario as Edward, whose performances further intensify the brewing conflict within the powerful Torrecampo clan.

The ensemble is bolstered by veteran actors Jackie Lou Blanco, Lito Pimentel, and Snooky Serna, alongside Sparkle artists Kayla Davies, Angel Cadao, Geo Mhanna and Kokoy de Santos. Also part of the cast are Tanya Gomez, Patricia Tumulak and Gee Canlas, rounding out the show’s impressive lineup.

At its core, House of Lies follows two determined women willing to fight for the lives they believe they deserve and the families they want to protect. As secrets pile up and loyalties are tested, ambition and betrayal threaten to bring everything crashing down.

Marjorie is portrayed as a nurturing mother and devoted wife to Paolo. In contrast, Althea — Edward’s wife — is controlling, status-conscious, and deeply threatened by Marjorie’s presence. Her insecurities fuel a dangerous obsession that turns family gatherings into silent battlegrounds.

Raised in privilege, brothers Paolo and Edward have long competed for their father’s approval and control of Torrecampo Realty. Now that their lives are further entangled, old rivalries resurface — made even more volatile by Althea’s determination to outshine and ultimately destroy Marjorie.

As cracks begin to show in what appears to be a flawless household, the question remains: how long can carefully constructed lies withstand the weight of the truth?

House of Lies is produced by the GMA Entertainment Group under the leadership of officer-in-charge and vice president for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, with Helen Rose S. Sese, Anthony R. Pastorpide, and executive producer Lenie G. Santos. The creative force behind the series includes creative director Aloy Adlawan, creative head Denoy Navarro-Punio, creative consultant Kit Villanueva Zapata, head writer Marlon Gonzales Miguel, and writers Jmee Katanyag, Loi Argel Nova, Ceres Helga Barrios, and Meryl Bunyi.

Directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng with associate director Carlo Antonio Cannu, the show delivers a compelling exploration of family, power and the secrets people keep to preserve their image.
