Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has added a new variant to the Triton lineup, and this one speaks directly to drivers who deal with daily traffic but still want a proper pickup. The all-new Triton GX arrives for the 2026 model year with a six-speed automatic transmission and a price tag of P1.43 million.
The GX slots neatly between the Triton GL and GLX. The GL remains the most affordable at P1.266 million, while the GLX sits higher at P1.649 million. What makes the GX stand out is the gearbox. While the GL and GLX stay manual, the GX brings in an automatic option at a price point that usually skips that convenience.
Its engine is the familiar 2.4-liter 4N16 diesel engine with a single-stage turbo with an output that stands at 183 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 430 Nm of torque available from 2,250 to 2,500 rpm.
Those numbers place the GX comfortably within the modern midsize pickup space, which offers enough pull for work duties and relaxed highway runs without pushing into performance-focused territory.
For the exterior, the GX follows the updated Triton look. The front gets the newer Dynamic Shield grille design with diagonal slats instead of the older horizontal layout. Lighting stays simple with multi-reflector halogen headlamps and no front fog lamps.
Wheels are 16-inch silver alloys wrapped in 265/70R16 highway-terrain tires. A bedliner is no longer standard and is now offered as a dealer-installed option.
An 8-inch touchscreen sits at the center of the dash and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both USB Type-A and Type-C ports are present, which is a practical touch for daily use. Beyond that, features are kept straightforward. Climate control uses rotary knobs instead of automatic settings.
There are no rear air vents. The gauge cluster is simplified and drops the colored multi-information display. Cruise control is also left out, and the driver’s seat does not have height adjustment. Even the upper glove box loses its lid.
The Triton GX comes with three SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, vehicle stability control, and hill start assist. A rear parking camera is also included, which helps in tight urban spaces or when lining up with a load behind the truck.
The new Triton GX feels designed for buyers who want the ease of an automatic without stepping into higher pricing. It avoids fancy upgrades and focuses on the basics that matter for everyday driving.
