Nestlé Professional hosts first TikTok affiliates event for content creators

Nestlé Professional has launched its first-ever TikTok affiliates event as part of its effort to support content creators and strengthen participation in the growing social commerce space.

The company gathered more than 100 TikTok affiliates from Metro Manila and nearby cities for the Nestlé Professional Creator Playground on 5 November. The event featured hands-on workshops, live product demonstrations, and talks aimed at helping affiliates improve content quality and increase sales using Nestlé Professional and Maggi Professional products.

Industry observers note that social commerce, driven by live selling and affiliate marketing on platforms such as TikTok, has transformed how consumers discover and purchase products. Brands are increasingly tapping content creators to directly reach customers through short-form videos and livestreams.

During the event, culinary experts demonstrated product applications while speakers discussed content creation strategies, effective platform use, and best practices for monetizing affiliate content.

“We recognize the growing influence of social commerce and the vital role that content creators play in shaping consumer preferences. By bringing together creators, we aim to provide them with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive in this space,” said Nestlé Professional business executive officer Rica Mier. “This event is just the beginning of our goal to build a community where creators feel valued and empowered to share their experiences with our brand.”

Among the participants was Michelle Mendoza of Antipolo City, who said the event helped her gain insights on creating more engaging content and improving sales performance. While new to TikTok affiliate marketing, Mendoza has a background in business marketing and experience in live selling.

“Swak kami ni TikTok at ng pag-a-affiliate. Yan ang aking passion. At yung gusto ko sa ganito, sarili mo yung oras mo,” Mendoza said.

Another affiliate, Jenalyn Vicente, said the flexibility of affiliate work has allowed her to earn additional income while managing family responsibilities.

“Yung kinikita ko sa dati kong work, kinikita ko na rin ngayon. Sinisideline ko lang dati itong pag-a-affiliate. Mula pa-isa-isang items, dumami nang dumami dahil ina-approach talaga ng tao,” Vicente said.

Genesis Quejada, a recent college graduate, said he added affiliate marketing to his list of side hustles and emphasized discipline and consistency as key to success.

“Yung strategy ko ay maglive for two hours in the morning and two hours at night. Yung pagitan ng oras ko na yun, I make more content in batches para kung ma-busy man in the next days, may ready-made videos pa rin for posting,” Quejada said.

Participants noted that Nestlé products, considered household staples in many Filipino homes, are easier to promote due to steady demand. Promotional discounts, vouchers, and freebies also help drive sales and increase commissions.

Despite its appeal, affiliates acknowledged that the work comes with challenges, including time management, content fatigue, and compliance with platform rules. Quejada advised aspiring affiliates to study and follow community guidelines to avoid penalties.

Through the Nestlé Professional Affiliate Program, the company said it aims to help creators improve their livelihoods and grow their presence in digital commerce. More information and promotional offers are available through @barangayNestlé on TikTok.
