CitySavings partners with Khan Academy Phl to boost teacher development

City Savings Bank has partnered with Khan Academy Philippines to strengthen professional development for teachers, expanding access to artificial intelligence-powered learning tools across the country.

CitySavings said the initiative supports its goal of serving the mass market while helping educators enhance teaching and learning, particularly in remote and underserved communities. Through the Khan Academy platform, teachers are given access to digital resources designed to assist with lesson planning, assessment creation, and classroom management.

The partnership builds on CitySavings’ long-standing support for the education sector, including its participation in Department of Education programs such as Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa, as well as its donations of learning equipment and technology to public schools.

“Our partnership with Khan Academy Philippines is a significant step in CitySavings’ commitment to elevating the Philippine education sector. By providing teachers with AI-powered resources like Khanmigo, we are not just supporting their current professional development, but actively co-creating a sustainable, future-ready learning environment where both educators and students can thrive and lead in the digital age,” said CitySavings Assistant Vice President for Reputation and Brand Management Paula Ruelan.

Under the initiative, teachers can use Khan Academy’s AI-powered teaching assistant, Khanmigo, which aims to reduce administrative workload and allow educators to focus more on mentoring students. Students, in turn, can learn concepts at their own pace through interactive exercises and real-time feedback.

More than 300 teachers from the Sta. Rosa and Calamba clusters in Laguna participated in training sessions held on Nov. 28 and Dec. 4, 2025. Participants shared positive feedback on how the tools support classroom instruction.

“The interactive practice exercises and instant feedback significantly enhance learning,” said Mikee Landicho, a teacher from Camp Vicente Lim Integrated School.

CitySavings said the partnership forms part of its broader corporate social responsibility efforts to promote inclusive and future-ready education, alongside its recent donation of laptops and school equipment to DepEd divisions nationwide.
