The historic film “I’mPerfect” is expanding its theatrical run across Greater Manila following two weeks of critical and commercial success, fueled by its groundbreaking portrayal of people with Down syndrome.

The film, which made history as the first movie led by a cast with Down syndrome to win Best Picture and the Jury Prize for Best Ensemble at the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), has nearly doubled its cinema count. Originally opening in 60 theaters, the film is now showing in nearly 100 locations to accommodate growing crowds.

Directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo and produced by Sylvia Sanchez-Atayde of Nathan Studios, the film features lead actors Krystel Go and Earl Amaba. Go also took home the MMFF Best Actress award for her performance.

The film has earned high marks from government leaders for its raw and authentic storytelling. Glenda Relova, executive director of the National Council for Disability Affairs, called the movie a "mind-opener" for Filipino families.

"It shows that even with a disability, they can overcome," Relova said. "Families find resolution as long as they communicate and understand what their loved ones are going through. We should not box in our view of people with disabilities."

Relova also cited that the film serves as a tourism showcase, featuring locations such as Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, and Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

The film is co-produced by CMB Film Services and continues to screen in major malls throughout Metro Manila and surrounding provinces.
