Filipino youth are leading a new wave in health with the launch of Gen V: Your Vibe, Your Move, a movement that makes preventive care a natural, empowering part of daily life. Designed for Gen Zs and Millennials, Gen V focuses on human papillomavirus (HPV) awareness, early vaccination, and open conversations about health — framing prevention not as a chore, but as a form of self-care and empowerment.
The launch brought together popular creators and digital advocates like Karina Bautista, Fonzi, Killa Kushla and Kylie Celebre, who joined wellness and dance activities while sparking honest conversations about HPV and preventive health. By combining credible science with youth culture, Gen V challenges long-standing myths, encourages early vaccination, and shows that protecting your health can be engaging and social.
“You are the generation that uses your platform to spark change. When prevention goes viral, it saves lives,” said Dr. Maan Galang-Escalona, Country Medical Lead of MSD Philippines. She emphasized that young Filipinos have the power to shift mindsets, normalize open discussions about HPV, and promote habits that safeguard themselves and others.
HPV is one of the most common viral infections worldwide, and while many infections clear naturally, some high-risk strains can lead to cancers affecting the cervix, penis, anus, and throat. In the Philippines, cervical cancer continues to be a major health burden, claiming 12 lives daily despite being preventable through vaccination, screening, and early care. Gen V aims to bridge this gap by translating scientific facts into relatable, everyday conversations that resonate with young people.
The movement encourages youth to ask questions, seek credible information and access HPV vaccines at accredited clinics, local health centers and select pharmacies. Beyond vaccination, Gen V promotes a culture of prevention that includes routine screenings, healthy habits, and safe practices — turning self-care into a community-driven movement.
By combining creativity, authenticity, and science, Gen V: Your Vibe, Your Move is showing that prevention is not just a health decision — it’s a form of empowerment. The message is clear: young people have the tools, the platforms, and the influence to protect their future and inspire their peers to do the same.
