Three new stations along the EDSA Busway—in Cubao, Magallanes, and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX)—will break ground in 2026 as the government steps up efforts to modernize the corridor and cut travel time for commuters.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Tuesday that the bidding for the construction of the three stations was awarded this month, with construction set to start in the first quarter of next year and finish by the fourth quarter of the year.
Transportation Undersecretary for Road Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor said the additional stations will improve bus flow, making public transport faster and more accessible along EDSA.
“We will have three new stations on the EDSA Busway. These will be in Cubao, in Magallanes, and also in PITX because we want to strengthen and speed up our time and motion here on EDSA when traveling by public transportation,” Pastor said.
“Construction will start in 2026. This was just awarded this December and will be finished within one year,” he added.
Alongside the new stations, the DOTr is also preparing to open the Kamuning Station within January to March as part of the busway’s modernization push.
Pastor said the Kamuning Station is designed with elevators and escalators to improve access, particularly for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and pregnant women.
“We also have ongoing construction here in the Kamuning area so that we can fix it and have a new footbridge—separate from MRT-3. This will be accessible and will have elevators,” he said.
